Warsaw hosts over 100 art galleries. Gallery Zachęta and Center for Contemporary Art belong to the most important public patrons of modern art in Warsaw promoting young and established artist of the current art moves.

Galeria Zachęta

Gallery’s roots go as far as mid of XIX century. Almost from the beginning it was placed in the current building. The mission of the gallery is to exhibit and promote contemporary art.

Zachęta’s library has over 9.500 books on art, architecture and design. The bookstore has an amazing choice of art books in Polish, English, German, French and sometimes Italian.

Gallery opening hours: Tue-Sun noon - 8pm.

Centrum Sztuki Współczesnej (CSW) – Center for Contemporary Art

Gallery is located in the famous Ujazdowski Palace, once king’s summer residence.

CSW organizes exhibitions mostly of Polish artist. It is famous for promoting art. of many disciplines: installations, visual theatre, music concerts, performances.

Opening Hours: Tue-Thu: 11am – 7pm, Fr: 11am – 9pm, Thursdays – free admisssion
